Because sometimes you just need a professional opinion.
You can hire one of Arborscape’s “certified arborists” to survey your property as an independent party and write a prescription for care based on experience and the latest industry standards.
This ensures you have the correct information about your trees and that they are receiving the best and most appropriate care. A program can be developed and managed for you if necessary.
Our surveys will assess the following:
- Pruning and health
- Structural integrity
- Prescribed treatments
- Risk exposure
Who Hires a Certified Aborist for Consulting?
Consulting practices and assessments are performed for various residential and commercial clients. Anyone in need of an official report, expert advice, or testimony to help facilitate land development, mitigation of a problem situation, or even testimony in a court case.
Builders and Developers:
We can guide the planning and construction phases of development projects. That includes surveying and assessment of trees on the property. In the early stages of the planning, we work to classify tree species, their features, and their overall health.
We will work with planners and contractors to outline and develop protocols and practices for performing construction work around trees. After the plan is created, we work to monitor construction activities around the protected trees on a specified site.
After the construction projects are complete, we will assess the impact of work performed and make recommendations for follow-up tree care. In the event that some individuals fail to plan appropriately, we will assist in necessary mitigation and remediation measures.
Home Owners:
We are hired by homeowners or property owners trying to perform a land development project. We can help homeowners meet municipality requirements for surveying the trees on site and, if justified, hopefully facilitate an approval.
Attorneys:
Sometimes lawyers or clients involved in a lawsuit hire us directly to help resolve a dispute. We can act as expert witnesses in a court case or give a written statement to help determine the value of damages.
Environmental Impact Assessment
Municipalities and agencies have employed many beneficial restrictions to ensure new projects are done considering the trees on site. Many towns will require a report written by a certified arborist to assess the project and how it will impact the tree population on site.
Arborscape will catalog and assess trees that the project will impact. After the site is assessed, a detailed report will be written and presented to address the individual statutes and requirements.
A professional opinion will be rendered, and recommendations will be made on how the proposed project will impact the tree population. We will often be asked to interpret our report and what measures can be taken to allow the project to move forward with minimal impact or disruption to the trees.
Meet Stefan Karlson – Certified Aborist and Arborscape Founder
“I have been involved in the landscape and arborist profession for over 20 years and feel I am duly qualified to render an opinion about most issues regarding tree health and land development. I have received formal education in the two fields through institutions such as Rutgers University and the New York Botanical Garden.
In addition to my education and practical experience, I possess the certifications of a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and a Certified Pesticide Applicator issued by the State of New York. For the past 18 years, I have managed and operated my own company in the landscape and tree field.”
