Spraying For Ticks — How we do It
Contrary to what most people think, we don’t spray your lawn when we spray for ticks. That’s because your lawn isn’t where they breed.
We’ll spray along the fringe areas of your property, in the wooded areas, the planting, and the garden beds.
Another misconception is that deer ticks are only prevalent in areas with deer. That’s not precisely correct. Actually, small rodents like mice also act as a vehicle for the deer tick to get around.
Our Natural Tick Control Option
Another option we’ve had great results with is a natural insecticide called Pyrethrum. It’s extracted from dried Chrysanthemum flower heads, and it’s a very good tick repellent for your yard.
How it works:
Cardboard tubes stuffed with Pyrethrum coated cotton are strategically placed on your property. Small tick-carrying animals, such as mice and birds, will use this cotton for their nests. The Pyrethrum will get on their fur, and the ticks drop off without doing harm to the animal.

Tree and Plant Insects we Treat
This is just a small sample of common insects we treat all the time. The actual list is quite extensive.
- Insect scale on trees and plants is one of the most prevalent pests we come across. We commonly see it on Azaleas, Hemlocks, White Pine, and many other types of plants and trees.
- The hemlock wooly adelgid is notoriously lethal to trees. We deal with them a lot throughout the Westchester county region.
- Spider mites are another pest we see a lot of, attacking Alberta spruce, azaleas, and a litany of landscaping plants in our area.
